Over the past few weeks, Hannah Kalverda (part-time student lecturer of Fine Art and Design) and Lucy May van der Laak (student Fine Art) have been working on an interactive guided tour of the exhibition Tulkus 1880 to 2018 by artist Paola Pivi. The tour is tailor-made for a group consisting of senior citizens (Pluspunt, Rotterdam) and first year students of the Erasmiaans Gymnasium, Rotterdam. During this ‘art confrontation’, which will take place Tuesday 23 April, the seniors and pupils will actively work in teams during their first encounter with the exhibition.
The outcome of this exchange will serve as a trigger for an inter-generational dialogue relating to the theme of the exhibition. Curious how it will go? Keep an eye on our website and social media in the coming week for photos, report and quotes!
The (Museum) Guide Project is a collaboration between the Willem de Kooning Academie and four Rotterdam based art institutions: Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, het Nederlands Fotomuseum, TENT. and Witte de With, Center for Contemporary Art. In 2013 nine students of the bachelor Lecturer of Fine Art and Design and the bachelor Fine Art will participate in the project. For a period of four weeks in April they work towards giving an interactive guided tour to a group of their choice at one of the institutions.
