For this Kunstblock Evening, Witte de With offers a special exhibition reading of NO HUMANS INVOLVED. This exhibition, by the multidisciplinary artist collective HOWDOYOUSAYYAMINAFRICAN?, urgently engages questions of ontology that encompass the multiplicity of our historically and socially produced human identities. Members of the collective have been in residence in Rotterdam for two months to create video and sculptural installations, printed matter, sonic scapes and film shorts that situate different modes of perception as forms of aesthetic and conceptual reinvention, protest, and disobedience to normative orders.
This Art Evening, the first exhibition reading is given by Teana Boston-Mammah (Researcher, Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences) from 6 to 7 pm. More readings are offered throughout the summer by other experts, check NO HUMANS INVOLVED for more information.
After the reading, Kunstblock offers a free guided Kunstblock Tour, starting at the front desk of Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art at 7 pm.
