Anke Bangma is artistic director of TENT Rotterdam. Previously she worked as Curator of Photography and Contemporary Art at the Tropenmuseum in Amsterdam. From 1998 to 2007 she was Course Director of the Fine Art program at the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam, and a member of the curatorial team at Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art in Rotterdam (1993-1998). Her projects include collaborations with artists such as Jompet Kuswidananto, Mathilde ter Heijne, Anoek Steketee, Erick Beltran (Tropenmuseum) and Rod Dickinson & Steve Rushton (Bard CCS, NY), and the exhibitions Look at Me (Tropenmuseum, 2014) and Performing Evidence (SMART Project Space, Amsterdam, 2009), which combined contemporary art with imagery from historical film and photo archives.
