Zhao Bandi (b. 1966, Beijing, China) is an artist who currently lives and works in Beijing, China. He graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts Oil Painting Department, Beijing in 1988. His practices encompass photography, video and performance. Zhao Bandi’s works are inspired by public service information and government propaganda. He uses humor and the persona of Pandaman to tackle difficult issues of concern to contemporary society.

Zhao Bandi’s work has been exhibited, among others, in the Manchester Art Gallery, the Ikon Gallery, Birmingham, the Aspex Gallery, Portsmouth, Kunstmuseum Bern, Bern, Germany, International Center of Photography, New York, USA, Shanghai Art Museum, Shanghai, China, Irish Museum of Modern Art – IMMA, Dublin, Ireland.
