Chris Evans’ (1967, UK) lives and works in London. His work is characterised by the realisation of unsolicited assignments and evolves through conversations with people from a broad range of professions – people selected in relation to their symbolic or public role. Recently this has included the directors of a luxury jewellery company, the editors of Morning Star newspaper, and members of the international diplomatic community. Collaboration becomes entangled along invisible paths of consultation and negotiation, as social processes become crystallised in art objects. In 2007 he undertook a residency at Artpace, San Antonio culminating in a solo exhibition and the following year produced a series of artworks under the title As Simple As Your Life Used To Be at the British School in Rome.
