Eva Grubinger (b. 1970, Austria) is an artist based in Berlin and Linz, where she has been professor of sculpture at Kunstuniversität Linz since 2008. In her sculptures and installations she appropriates form and place in order to modify them in scale and to recharge them with new meaning. Recent solo exhibitions include Black Maths at Tobias Naehring, Leipzig (2013); Eva Grubinger at Kerstin Engholm Galerie, Vienna (2011); and Trespassing at Museum der Moderne, Salzburg (2009). She has also exhibited her work at group shows, such as Suspicious Minds at Galeria Vermelho, Sao Paulo (2013); at the Marrakesh Biennal (2012); ‘Secret Societies’ at Musee d’art contemporain de Bordeaux (2011); and Good Gangsters at Taipei Fine Art Museum (2008).
