Ian Yang (b. 1985 in Jiangsu, China, works and lives in Amsterdam) was the 2014 Curatorial Fellow at Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art and worked together with Director Defne Ayas and curator Marianne Brouwer on the exhibition Dai Hanzhi: 5000 Artists on the legacy of Hans van Dijk that took place at Witte de With in the Fall of 2014 (September 4, 2014- January 4, 2015).
He was a grantee of Erasmus Mundus Scholarship by the European Commission from 2009 to 2011, holds a MA in Film Studies from Shanghai University and a MA (cum laude) in Performance Studies from the University of Amsterdam. Yang assisted the curating of exhibition Snapshots of Tourism in the Helsinki International Artist-in-residency Program (HIAP) in 2010 and has been involved in multiple artistic and cultural exchange projects between Europe and the Greater China region. He works now as project officer for the China Desk of DutchCulture,centre for international operation, and as a freelance writer for Chinese magazine Art and Design, besides various online media.
