Jan van de Pavert (b. 1960, The Netherlands) is an artist, whose body of work comprises drawings, frescos, scale models and computer animations. Van de Pavert’s work refers to virtual spaces and fantasy architecture. Since 1984 Jan van de Pavert has participated in over seventy solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad. His solo exhibitions include: Een huis, Centraal Museum, Utrecht (1994);; Fiktieve Boeken, Baronian gallery, Brussels (1988); He has been exhibiting recurrently at Galerie Paul Andriesse, Amsterdam (1991 to date); Van de Pavert obtained the 1st prize for sculpture at the Prix de Rome (1988). His work makes part of the collections of the Centraal Museum, Utrecht; Van Abbe Museum, Eindhoven; Kröller-Müller Museum, Otterlo; and the Margulies Collection at The Warehouse, Miami. Van de Pavert’s has also been a regular lecturer and from 1999 until 2003 he was an advisor to the Foundation for Visual Arts in Amsterdam.
