Jean-Luc Blanc (b. 1965, France) is an artist based in Paris. His work, mostly drawings and paintings, borrows its imagery essentially from cinema or magazines and questions the permanence and the exactness of the photographic reproducibility. The double made by the artist is not exactly a double, he reproduces the images as they appear to him on a special moment; it’s a meeting between him and what he sees, and from this meeting an artwork will appear. Recently, his solo work has been exhibited at Galerie Saint Severin, Paris (2010), and at Jean-Luc Blanc, Opera Rock, CAPC, Bordeaux (2009). He will have a solo show at Art:Concept, Paris in 2014. His work also appeared in group shows, such as La Belle peinture II, Pisztory Palace, Bratislava (2013); Suspicious Minds, Galeria Vermelho, Sao Paulo (2013); The rise and fall of matter, @collective, London (2011); and I am By birth a Genevese, Vegas Gallery, London (2010).
