Jennifer Tee (Arnhem, The Netherlands, 1973) was educated at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam, Sandberg Institute, Amsterdam, St. Joost, Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Breda and Gerrit Rietveld Academy of Art and Design, Amsterdam. Her videos, sculptures, installations, and performances are inspired by her own life and surroundings. She draws on religion, mythology, anthropology, language and travel. She has had solo exhibitions at SAFN Contemporary Art Collection, Reykjavik, Iceland (2007); Galleria Klerkx, Milan (2006); Art Space, Sydney (2005); Sao Paulo Biennial, Sao Paulo (2004); Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven (2003); Art Basel Miami Beach, Miami (2003); Art Foundation Xiamen, Xiamen (2002); Kunstverein, Frankfurt (2002); Stedelijk Museum Bureau, Amsterdam (1999) and BQ Cologne (1999). In 2003 she was awarded the Prix Nouvelles Images and in 2001 she won the Uriot-prijs at Rijksakademie, Amsterdam.
