Johanna Tengan (1996, Belgium) works as a dancer and choreographer based in Rotterdam. After three years of education at ArtEZ institute of the Arts in Arnhem (NL) she worked with choreographer Marina Mascarell and Ann Van den Broek. She then continued to work in Copenhagen with Mute Comp. Physical theatre under direction of Kasper Ravnhøj, and started a collaboration with physical theatre company Farm in the Cave in Prague. Johanna also creates her own work. Under production of Dansateliers Rotterdam and Azkuna Zentroa Bilbao, she created and performed Singular which was premiered at Moving Futures Festival (NL). As a dancer and maker, Johanna searches for an essential understanding of movement and draws inspiration from physical theatre and poetry.
