Maria Lind (b. 1966, Sweden) is a curator and critic who is interested in exploring the formats and methodologies connected to the contemporary art institution. She was the Director of the graduate program at the Bard College Center for Curatorial Studies (2008-2010). Previous to that she was the director the Munich Kunstverein (2002-2004); curator at Moderna Museet in Stockholm (1997-2001), and co-curator of Manifesta 2 (1998). Lind was named as the fourth recipient of the Walter Hopps Award for Curatorial Achievement (2009). For Lind, writing is integral to her curatorial work; throughout her career she has contributed to numerous exhibition catalogues, magazines and scholarly publications. A compendium of her essays, Selected Maria Lind Writing, was published by Sternberg Press in 2010.
