Born in Auckland (1982), New Zealand, Simon Denny currently lives and works in Cologne. He studied at the Städelschule, Staatliche Hochschule für Bildende Künste, Frankfurt Am Main. For Witte de With’s Let Us Compare Mythologies he performed Introductory Logic Tutorial Video (2010), a series of «canvas video sculptures» accompanied by selected material such as course books, texts, assignments and tests that he used when he took a course in introductory logic at the University of Sydney. Amongst his participations in group exhibitions are the Biennale Of Sydney, Revolutions: Forms That Turn, MCA, Sydney Australia (2008), Menschheit, Mother’s Tankstation, Dublin, Ireland (2008), and Conceptual Painting, Atelier Cardenas Bellanger, Paris, France (2008). Among his solo exhibitions are Deep Sea Vaudeo, Daniel Buchholz Gallery, Cologne (2009), Recent Haircuts, Uplands Gallery, Melbourne, Australia (2008) and Monthly Cowards, Gambia Castle, Auckland, New Zealand (2007).
